Stem from the kaagu fern (Bedamuni: kaagu). A rolled-up piece of stem which, after further processing by splitting and scraping, is used to make the dark material used in plaiting upper-arm bracelets (nabu) such as 1982.7i-1982.7iii and 1982.76i-1982.76iv. The stem is usually kept in a roll like this, fixed with a thorn, until it is time for further processing. From Uruba.
