sample (natural objects)

Stem of the kaagu fern (Bedamuni: kaagu). A rolled up piece of stem of the kaagu fern. The stem is further processed by splitting and scraping, to make the dark material used in plaiting upper-arm bracelets (nabu) such as 1982.7i-1982.7iii and 1982.76i-1982.76iv. The stem is usually kept in this rolled up condition and fixed with a thorn, before further processing.
