playing cards

Set of 30 playing cards. The cards are narrow rectangular strips of thin cardboard, printed with various devices in red and black. The inscription is part of a poem: 因過竹院逢僧話, or ‘yin guo zhu yuan feng seng hua’ on the right hand column, and 又得浮生半日閑 or ‘you de fu sheng ban ri xian’ on the left, which literally means a poet met a monk and talked with him for half a day when passing the temple and enjoyed a leisurely time.
