A soapstone pipe bowl which is hollow with a narrow collar beneath. The pipe bowl is carved from one piece of red soapstone with light green veins. There is straight line decoration on the outside. Possibly the bowl of a gourd water pipe.
Usually associated with an ox horn and stem (to act as a shaft) and used to smoke dagga (cannabis). The overall assemblage is referred to as a dagga pipe ('igudu').
