Arrow with a shaft of arrow reed (Gynerium saggitatum, called 'waiwu'), squeezed at one end and bound by cotton thread to the wood point, which has a single line of barbs grouped in threes and fours. The shaft is undecorated. The flight is of two opposed radial feathers bound at the top and bottom with gummed cotton. The ends of the feathers are decorated with smaller feather tufts. The end is notched and bound with cotton.
