Hunting horn, trompe de chasse, jagdhorn, in high C (in present state), yellow brass. A reconstruction. The greater part of the main tubing is cylindrical, with gradual expansion to the bell in the last two sections. The lower section of the bell is a replacement. The mouthpipe is a replacement (apparently part of a trumpet) and inappropriate. Once coiled. Lacks mouthpiece. Much dented. An ornate plaque, of later date than the original instrument, has been applied to the bell, showing a representation of a hunter with a gun, the top of the plaque surmounted with a coronet.
