Bassoon, dark brown wood, German silver mounts, ivory bell ring. Seventeen German silver keys of modern design, mounted on pillars. German system as in use in the latter half of the 19th century. Overall length is 127.2 cm. Length of wing and butt is 87.8 cm. Crook (possibly original) is damaged. Grooved flaw in wood alongside hole for left third finger. Base plate under U-tube missing. Stamped: Heckel Biebrich.
