Bassoon, ringed maple, German silver crook (perhaps original), bone bell ring, white metal mounts. Seven ivory keys, octagonal, mounted in brass saddles, including E flat for left fourth finger and two wing keys. No F sharp, F key a swallow-tail. Length overall is 124.3 cm. Length of wing and butt is 91.3 cm. Butt and wing have ornamented brass bands. Long joint keys on ornate platform. Brass key-guard. Bell not original but a copy of a later German type. Stamped on butt and long joint: H. Grenser Dresden (crossed swords mark).
