Wooden humanoid figure cut from the trunk of a small tree which has been split longitudinally down the middle using wedges. The bark has been removed butt the back of the figure retains the natural curved surface of the trunk. The figures flat front creates the impression of arms with a pair of parallel groves on the side and front at each edge and the belly s decorated with a series of alternating zig zag rows in red and white. The head is slightly conical with a strongly modelled nose and composites ear-cheekbone elements. The head is painted red and black and two sub octagonal disks of chambered nautilus shell form the eyes.
