Box, possibly for a betel chew ingredient, in the form of monstrous fish, with scales and other features painted in red black grey and white. The mouth has a row of teeth and is open. The inside is hollowed and painted black, while the back forms a lid. On the underside is an inscription in Balinese script 'Ida Bagus Sasih, Tebesaya', indicating the maker's name and village. Tebesaya is just outside Ubud.
