Pendant ornament of turtleshell. Rings of this type, cut from the edge of the turtleshell, were worn by men in Santa Cruz as nose pendants (in which case they would be cut at the thin edge) or as ear pendants hung from a turtleshell ring, see Koch 1971:119,123.
