Rectangular tabby-woven banana fibre (basho) cloth with a naturally buff-coloured ground. The textile is decorated with multicoloured stencil (bingata) and ikat (kasuri) designs. The ends of the banana fibre warp have been fringed at both shorter sides of the textile. The centre band contains stencilled floral, foliate and circular motifs in red, pink, violet, blue and brown. At each shorter end is a border consisting of three solid brown bands. Between each outer and middle band and each middle and inner band are two wave-like ikat motifs.
