Woman's under-dress, sleeveless shift of one width of plain undyed handwoven handspun linen fabric sewn together along selvedges, with an opening left to form armholes. Short opening at front hand stitched and reinforced. Additional triangular panels added at sides. Lower part heavily embroidered in several colours, chiefly red, maroon and pink against dark brown or black, completely covering the ground fabric and including patches of metal thread couchwork.
