Bone awl, used in mat making. Tapers gradually for three quarters of its length, then more sharply ending in a point. Incised designs on one face of the upper, gently tapered section, which has two small almost circular sections one at each side towards the top. The very top part is shaped to end in a peaked arch, and curves slightly upwards.
