Small rectangular sample of a diaphanous, tabby-woven cotton decorated with tie-dyed patterns ('bandhani'). The textile has seemingly been cut from a larger cloth as some of the patterns appear to be incomplete, and 3 sides are unfinished. The decoration consist of small diamond motifs with a red dot on a yellow ground at the centre, surrounded by blue-black, cream and red outlines on a yellow ground. The changes in the distorted shape of the textile in the resist pattern suggests that the textile was folded, with the ties gathering the layers.
