Sample of cotton chintz, made or collected in India. The chintz shows a floral pattern with stylised flowers and foliage, picked out in a variety of greens, blues, reds, and yellows. The background to the pattern is cream. The sample has been sown on to a board, covered with a textile in light blue, for display and preservation. Also attached to the board is a paper label with hand written text. The text gives the place of manufacture, name of design, and price in December '69. A second piece of paper displays the number 11548 handwritten in ink. A final piece of paper shows text an unknown script.
