bottle (containers)

Iridescent green glass bottle, dated to approximately 1650-1690. The body of the bottle is representative of the onion shape, with rounded shoulders tapering to a short neck. There is a string rim which is damaged. On the front of the bottle is a glass seal with monogrammed initals TI surrounded by raised circles. Underneath, the bottle has a high basel 'kick up' and sand pontil scar. The words 'Sun St' have been added retrospectively to the surface of the glass in two location - front and back- referring to the location in which it was found: Sun Street, London, EC2.
