helmet (headwear (armour: body armour))

Four plate russet iron helmet, momonari kabuto (i.e. peach-shaped), in style influenced by European 'morion' helmets, with separate gold decoration for top of helmet. Neck guard (shikoro) in hineno style of five iron layers joined by blue silk lacings. Bottom layer appears to be covered with leather trimmed with bear fur. Fukigaeshi to either side are decorated with stencilled leather with Shohei date. Silk tying cords inside. Blue hemp liner. In the style of 1580-1650.
