Ceramic tea bowl (cha wan = ceramic bowl) of brownish red clay, glazed, blue lines in the centre of the interior and browner towards the outer rim. The glaze has been allowed to run down irregularly on the outside, a popular effect in Japan. 46 h x 95 dia.
