Footed dung bowl, with a round-flat base. The bowl is painted with various geometric patterns in rusty red, black and white. Where paint is peeling it’s possible to see the orange colouration of the body of the bowl.
Dung bowls made by the Kadaru of Sudan are an important part of a girl’s dowry. Bowls like these ones are used for holding wedding perfumes, flour and powdered vegetables.
