Sleeveless coat, red and white cotton. Made of two lengths of cotton with white main panel between two red stripes (along the selvedges) sewn together along the central selvedge but with part left unsewn to create a neck opening and along the outer selvedges with part left to create arm holes. These seams done in blue thread. The lower section of the coat has been heavily but plainly embroidered with red yarn, ending in fringes along the central and outer seams. Labels with the object indicate its Wellcome no. was A54461 Acq 1949/54.
