Ivory netsuke in the form of a study of a puppy sitting on a very small straw mat. Its head is turned to the left. It has three patches: below its left ear, above its right foreleg and above its left foreleg. These areas are shaded by incisions. The eyes are inlaid, possibly with dark horn.
