Basketry bag. Rectangular flat shape, with a flap the same size as the bag: the flap must be lifted to gain entry to the open top of the bag. Made of one long piece of plain basketry, folded twice, one fold being the bottom of the bag and the other fold for the flap. The bag part is joined and reinforced at the sides and bottom with plaited fibre cord. The flap top and sides are also reinforced with plaited fibre cord. The outside of the flap is decorated with six groups of arrow stripes in darker fibre woven into the basketry weft: the two outside sets of stripes point inward, the central four sets point outward. Above the stripes, in the centre top of the flap, a rectangular leather panel with an open cross-hatch design is stitched on. The bag has a long carrying handle made of a loop of two plaited fibre cords tied to the two top corners. A length of brown cotton thread loosely attached to the handle.
