Gilt bronze statue of Green Tara, Tibetan Buddhist goddess, seated on a lotus pedestal. Left leg in lotus position, right extended outward, resting on a small lotus attached to the base. Right hand extended downward palm out, resting on right knee in the gesture of compassion. Left hand held up in the gesture of transmission of Buddha's teachings, with tips of thumb and index finger touching. Hands hold lotus stems, which bloom at her shoulders with intricately modelled petals and leaves. Princely robes, elaborate jewellery and crown, elongated earlobes. Nude from waist up. In the headdress is seated Buddha Amithaba. A third eye of wisdom on the forehead, which together with jewellery and crown is picked out with light blue paint. Body bent in an S shape. 234h x 160 w x 130 d.
