Painted clay figure of Dhritarashtra, the Guardian of the East and king of the demons who feed on incense. Seated cross-legged, his face with a pale white complexion, moustache and ‘Chinese’ features. Playing a stringed instrument, the neck held to his left side. Wearing a high-pointed crown with insets at forehead and ears and a red decorated robe with white and green scarves. On a single lotus throne with the round tipped petals pointing upwards.
