Carved wooden mask of a man with downturned mouth, painted white with red stripes. It has apertures for the eyes, nostrils, and mouth. Stylised eyebrows are painted black, at an angle. Nine tufts of black hair protrude from nine holes at each side of the mask. Two further holes have been used to insert baler twine for display. The mask may have been used as a model for Kabuki face painting.
