Tiered cover, probably for a hsun-ok, a votive food receptacle. Formed of two joined parts, the lower circular, with 5 concentric tiers of gilt lacquer, each decorated with scrolling in thayo, raised lacquer, the lowest also with floral motifs in green and red glass, the next with undulations made up of small pieces of green glass between the scrolling, and the third with green glass embellishment set into scallop shapes. The next two tiers are narrower, each with a protruding edge. The fourth has green and red floral motifs which echo those in the lowest tier. A wooden stump protrudes from the centre, over which the top part fits. This lower part is lacquered in red on the inside, and has holes at either side at the bottom, through which a strip of red fabric is tied. The separate top part narrows to a point, with concentric bands similar to those of a stupa. There is only one band of mirror glass towards the base.
