Turned and carved tankard with burwood body, hinged convex lid and handle on four feet with pattern of more or irregular vertical incisions. On the top of the lid is a central raised decoration of a lion, probably representing the royal lion of Norway, surrounded by turned rings with a band of carved beading along the outermost rim. The lid has a tall thumb lift, and there is a rosette on each the outside end of the hinge pin above the handle. There is also a carved rosette on the underside of the tankard.
