mask (dance & live theatre)

Mask made of wood and carved to resemble an ox head. It has eye holes, two horns coming straight up from the head, and carved nostrils and a mouth. It is decorated with carved linear patterns, and a simple floral carving in the centre of the forehead. The back of the mask is roughly carved. There is a carved inscription on the back near the bottom, which reads 'L. SALIS / CAGLIARI', possibly referring to the maker and place made.
