Ottoman Turkish short-sword, yataghan, the single edge blade of conventional form. The two-piece grips are made from black buffalo horn, the grip-strap and ferule extensions are embossed and chased with geometric ornament. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass locket (the chape is missing).
