Footed vase of white fabric with globular body and neck set in a lotus collar. Body decorated with underglaze painting in shades of blue and green. Design on each side of body is of pavilions above two tigers in mirror composition, situated in stylised landscape. 190mm h.

(Relating to nn1779, 1780, 1781 and 1782) These objects are from the Jeypore School of Art. They share along with the other Jeypore School of art Ceramics, hand written numbers on their bases. These are rather calligraphic, could they have been written by someone who was not used to the Latin script? Could they have been written for Horniman as he made his collections?
