Porcelain cup with a beehive-shaped insert attached inside with a hole at the top, the whole painted with overglazed famille rose enamel. The cup has curved sides, flared rim and low foot. The cup exterior is decorated with a painting of an official and two boys in a garden scene. The inset is painted with stylised cloud scrolls centred around the hole. The cup was possibly used as a water dropper.
