Hide oval shield from Swaziland. Rows of small rectangles are cut into the face, through which strips of brown haired hide are woven. These strips attach to the cylindrical wooden handle and fasten it closely to the central spine of the shield. The top of the handle is wrapped in animal hair, whilst the tip is narrowed to a point. Thin piece of hide.
