Small wooden figure carved from a single piece of toromiro wood in a pose squatting on his haunches with his hands over his breast. The figure has an erect penis and a head which is of oval shape with flattened face socketed eyes and a strong nose and brow. On the back of the head two cigar shaped projections depict long ears. The overall impression of the figure is unusual; it possesses a number of stylistic characteristics in common with other well know examples of Easter Islands carving but is itself quite unique. The figure is covered with the remnants of a reddish ochre paint which has worn off in most places but still remains in the crevices and seams
figure (communication artefact)
