A box, circular in shape and consisting of three parts. The box is coated in a lacquer, and decorated with disks of ivory, varying in sizes depending on where they are placed. The different parts of the box are lacquered in red, black, green and blue. The surface of the object mainly has a floral decoration, however there are also more abstract forms. The three parts of the box include a base, tray and a domed lid. The underside of the lid, box and tray have bands of patterning. Some of the patterning is made of metal thread embedded into the wood. The base and the tray have circular sections cut out, presumably for storage. The inside of the compartments are painted red. There is a separate bag of broken ivory disks, which have presumably fallen from the lid. Each of the three sections have a hole in the centre. Perhaps a central support was once in place.
