Long, octagonal copper box with a hinged lid. The lid is decorated all over the surface with engraved stylised scrolled floral designs and split leaves. The underside of the box is embellished with engraved and punched decoration of two stylised lions in mirror compoisition, each with a raised paw, between which are two panels in mirror composition each with intertwined peacocks. The sides are undecorated except a single ridge above and below the middle of the box, in imitation of basketry. There are three domed bosses, two on the side and one above the lock, all three attached to the locking mechanism which is controlled by a sliding square plaque on the exterior.
