Tanto blade (dagger) with a deep groove on either side just below the back. No ridge (or shinogi). Probably mounted as a spear in the Restoration period (1860-1875) on a modern shaft but the dagger blade is very old. The tsuba (guard) is a plain iron (tsukashi) tsuba, and probably belonged to the dagger.
