Nagamaki type blade. Wakizashi blade (=over 1 foot, under 2 feet). Poor condition. With Sukashi guard. Needs cleaning. Probably from the Owari region. Appears to be old - could be early Edo or older. The shaft was made for it. May be 17th century or even end of 16th century. Mounted as a yari-type.
