Figure of eight shield carved from a single piece of wood with a split bamboo handle and a raised boss on the face. This boss and much of the central section of the shield are covered with an extensive fibre binding in natural and black fibers creating an attractive chevron motif. The edge of the woven fibre binding is trimmed with red western trade cloth over woven string work and several feathers of reddish to green colour.
