Taxidermy case of two adult male, two adult female and four juvenile Common Sandpiper (one adult male and one adult female missing). According to Edward Hart, writing on 3 May 1927, 'Left (no 1): adult male, August 1865, summer plumage; (no 2): adult female, August 1865, summer plumage; (no 3): adult female, August 19th 1868, summer plumage; (no 4): adult male, May 21st 1883, summer plumage; young, July 1893. Shot by me on the River Avon and Coward's Marsh, Christchurch. Sexes alike. Summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
