Taxidermy case of four adult male, two adult female and three young Little Grebe (two adult birds missing). According to Edward Hart, writing on 2 May 1927, 'Top left (no 2): adult male, August 1885, summer plumage; bottom left (no 1): adult male, June 1885, summer plumage; bottom middle (no 3): adult female, June 1885, summer plumage; bottom right (no 4): adult female, January 1860, winter plumage; middle right (no 5): adult male, August 1855, summer plumage; top right (no 6): adult male, January 1874, winter plumage, and three young. All obtained by me in Christchurch Harbour. Sexes alike, summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
