Taxidermy case of two adult female, two adult male and one immature male Merlin. According to Edward Hart, writing on 16 April 1927, 'Bottom left (no 1): adult female, February 1876; middle left (no 2): adult female, January 15th 1881; top middle (no 3): immature male, November 1880; middle right (no 4): adult male, November 1879; bottom right (no 5): adult male, Februray 1881. All the above killed by me in the neighbourhood of Christchurch. Sexes differ. Summer and winter plumage, male the same, female differs. Mounted by me'.
