Dhambura (dambura), lute The hemipyriform wooden (?mulberry) body carved with zig-zags, X-shapes and other geometrical patterns in relief, with two metal rosettes applied to the edges of the small wooden collar at the base of the neck. The wooden table is pierced with three sets of four small soundholes. Three pegs with bun-shaped heads at the top of the neck, two stained a red-brown colour with applied metal rosettes, the other probably a replacement. There are four grooves in the neck for (tied) frets, two of which survive. There is a hole in the neck 175mm above the collar for a peg for a short string. Plain wooden bridge. Three gut strings of varying thickness, two secured to a wooden end-pin and one to a small metal eye near the base of the body.
