Anglo-German system. Serial number 22698. Oval paper label: 'G Jones, Patent Concertina Manufacturer, 350 Commercial Road East.' 6.69" diameter thick dark mahogany ends, simple frets, bevelled edge, red leather backing. 35 keys: 15 + 2 effects + 2 drones left-hand, 15 + 1 air right-hand. Air button operated by rod to inner sprung flap. Flat topped nickel, bushed. Later hand straps, screwed on mahogany hand bars, brass screws. Right-hand bar stamped: 'Screwed Notes Defiance, GJ, London Make.' Six-fold dark green leather bellows, gold stamped and lined, black papers and gold patterned. Round-end broad steel reeds.
