Harmonium by Debain, Paris, 1840-50. Serial number 521. Front Ormolu Plaque: 'Debain a Paris.' Base is stamped: 'Debain, Place Lafayette, Paris 521.' Five register buttons marked: 'Crescendo,' 'Tremolo,' 'Harmonia Brevete SGDG,' 'Celeste C,' and' Forte Fixe F.' The piano keys are ivory faced with ebony accidentals. Leather-edged bellows with black embossed papers. Rectangular brass reed beds screwed to action, with double riveted brass tongues. Both front and back panels drop down to reveal the registers and the red C hammers. On tripod stand with foot pedal and lever to operated reed bellows.
