MacCann duet system. No serial number, batch number 5. Label absent, was: 'C. Wheatstone & Co. Inventors, Patentees & Manufacturers, Concertinas and Aeolas, London.' 8.75" diameter; ends absent, were raised fully fretted chrome plated, inset to wooden end frames. 58 keys: 30 left-hand, 37 right-hand + 1 air (1 left-hand and 21 right-hand absent). Bushed. Later hide straps. Eight-fold black leather bellows, new edge strips added. Round-end steel reeds. The first concertina acquired by Neil Wayne, bought in London in 1965 for £2.10.0d. The raised metal ends were subsequently lost whilst being replaced.
