Oval inset nickel plaque: 'Lachenal & Co, Patent Concertina Manufacturers, London.' 7.5" AF [across front?], 9.06" long - stretched hexagon shape. Raised ebony ends in 'New Model' style, simple frets, with extra hole below hand-bar, bevelled. 49 keys: 22 left-hand, 27 right-hand, converted from English system with 48 keys (22 left-hand and 24 right-hand). Mixed metal keys, mainly silver capped nickel, bushed. Left-hand strap absent, right-hand strap later, on crude replacement hand-bars. Nine-fold black leather bellows. Round end steel reeds, some screwed onto pan, some blocked off.
