Dramyin (sgra snyan), long-necked lute.The body and neck are carved from a single piece of wood. The lower section of the soundbox has a skin soundtable, the upper section has a wooden soundtable with a pair of spiral soundholes. A wooden string holder projects from the base of the instrument with a metal ring affixed to which the remains of wire strings are attached. Hole for a peg for a short string at the side of the neck. The whole instrument is painted red, the fingerboard painted in green and yellow with a design of foliage, three roundels, and a depiction of a dramyin player, perhaps the guardian of the eastern region. Main peg-box and all pegs missing.
