Dumbelek, goblet-shaped drum. Body constructed from thin strips of wood running vertically . 16 inside strips and outer veneers. Veneers alternate wood (probably wallnut) and ivory. Mother of pearl diamond shaped inlays at top with band of mother of pearl immediately beneath. Bottom is open and reveals that the inside surfaces are lined with textured green paper. Hide membrane was originally painted black, but lightened with age. Diameter of membrane: 222 mm, diameter of bottom: 132 mm. Diameter of waist: 66 mm
