MacCann duet system concertina. Serial number 24814. Scalloped brass label inset into aluminium ends: 'C. Wheatstone & Co. Inventors, Patentees & Manufacturers, Concertinas and Aeolas, London.' Left-hand end has chromed inset number plaque: '24814'. 10.38" diameter fully fretted raised aluminium [probably made for a performer who required a lightweight instrument] inset to wooden end frames with red muslin backing. 80 keys: 37 left-hand (plus air release), 43 right-hand. Domed chrome on wood core, bushed. Black leather hand straps, silver embossed: 'Wheatstone'. Eight-fold black leather bellows. Round-end aluminium reed beds, steel tongues, two central holes in reed pan.
